Dejan started as Serbian professional water polo player for Partizan Belgrade and VK Beograd, while his career as coach started with Partizan. As the head coach of the Serbian national team, he has won gold medals at the 2009 World Aquatics Championships and the 2006 Men's European Water Polo Championship, as well as the 2012 Men's European Water Polo Championship.

Dejan was named head coach of the USA Water Polo Men’s Senior National Team begin of 2013.

Lucas was born in the Netherlands and played for the Netherlands as well as for Germany. From a club perspective he played for Partizan Belgrade and Spandau 04 Berlin. Now he's traveling between the Netherlands and the US and will shortly start the preparations for the European Championship starting in a few weeks.

Why do referees whistle different in many countries? Is this the case and when yes what do we have to do? Everybody acts on one set of rules and therefore there are no differences regardless of the country. As a referee you don't have to look angry to players or coaches during a game. But at the end we need to establish another level for referees (and players and coaches maybe also) that is more professional. It's not acceptable that we have only pure amateurs within the waterpolo scene.

Yesterday I had the chance to talk with the new Head Coach (Bundestrainer) Petar Porobic at the pool before the game between Waspo and Spandau. There are a lot of challenges ahead of us and we need to decide what are our goals. When clubs, organizations and federation come together to develop a common strategy for the waterpolo in germany we are in a much better situation. But at the moment everybody is following his own strategy with own goals.
