When you arrive at the olympic games as player or coach it is such a special moment. But as a coach of a country like spain you have to have all other aspects in mind to make sure you keep the focus. There are three different kind of athlets when you come to the olympic village and you can feel them. We are going to destroy our sport when we as coaches, players and clubs are out of the communication and collaboration with the LEN and the FINA. Everybody has to work together in order to have big tournaments with the best possible teams the the best players.

David always had the dream to work as a coach already during his active waterpolo career. Im ersten Teil unseres Gesprächs geht es um die aktuelle Situation der Bundesliga, wie man sie vielleicht zu alter Stärke bringen könnte und was all das für Auswirkungen auf die Nationalmannschaft hat.

Jeder Wechsel zum jeweils größeren Verein hatte, neben den ganzen sportlichen Aspekten, für Fynn auch andere Faktoren. So wurde zum Beispiel auch nochmal die persönliche Einstellung zum Sport und in Richtung Professionalität geschärft. Man sieht Dinge ab einem gewissen Level einfach anders. Man muss sich auch persönlich weiterentwickeln, möchte man die selbst gesteckten Ziele erreichen.

Nicht nur in Vereinen hat man stets die Frage der Nachwuchsarbeit. Haben wir genug Nachwuchs? Wie talentiert und engagiert ist unser Nachwuchs? Bekommt ein Wechsel zu einem größeren Verein meinen Spielern? Wie geht es danach weiter?

All diese Fragen und viele mehr bespreche ich mit Fynn Schütze. Fynn hat in Hildesheim mit dem Wasserball begonnen, ist dann zu den White Sharks nach Hannover gewechselt und ist nun eines der begehrtesten Nachwuchstalente Deutschlands. Gerade als Linkshänder steht er hier nochmal besonders im Fokus, gelten diese doch als besonders begehrt und selten.
